Fetal Calf Serum (FCS) is the most widely used growth supplement (2-20 % in medium) in cell culture systems and where applicable also in the production of therapeutic proteins due to being low in antibodies and containing high content of embryonic growth promoting factors, allowing for versatility in many different applications.
